Counselor in Training

CIT

Counselor's in Training (C.I.T.'s) must have completed ninth grade and are mentored by our camp directors and work with senior counselors daily. While helping lead the daily activities offered at Camp Nova, C.I.T.'s gain hands-on experience working with children in an exciting fast-paced environment and learn how to handle increased responsibilities. They attend meetings and staff training every camp session alongside Senior and Junior Counselors.

Camp Nova is looking for C.I.T.'s that are dedicated, accountable, and exhibit a willingness to learn and help out where needed. The C.I.T. program is limited to a select number of participants. Once an applicant submits an application, they will be contacted by the Director of Summer and Extended programs so that a formal interview can be scheduled. Overnight Camp

For one week this summer, students in grades 2-7 have the traditional sleepaway camp experience right here on the Nova Southeastern University campus. Campers participate in day time activities and field trips through Camp Nova's Shark Camp until approximately 5:30pm each day. They eat dinner on the NSU campus and then head to the NSU suite-style dorm rooms for evening activities, team building games, and social events until lights out at 9:00pm.

Our Overnight Camp enables children to grow and form strong bonds that last a lifetime, while helping build confidence and self-esteem. Counselors live in the dorms with the students and along with an NSU Resident Assistant, provide 24-hour supervision.
